D-BRIX: Distributed big data platform for EV and battery validation environments

The SimOps Team distilled a set of the 20 major best practices drawn from over 230 engineering simulation projects, including three of the "Magnificent Seven", and 160 case studies, over the last 12 years. These best practices are grouped under the three 'Golden-Triangle' lenses of Technology, Process, and People, yet intentionally cross-reference one another, because SimOps only succeeds when the three act in concert. Together with the iASYS team, we compared major features and capabilities of the BRIX Platform with the SimOps best practices.
Why BRIX Platform is SimOps Compliant
In the following, we check the SimOps compliance of the BRIX Platform. With the following capabilities, BRIX provides a robust, future-proof foundation for any organization implementing SimOps, empowering engineering teams to maximize the value, efficiency, and traceability of their validation-driven operations.
1. Simulation-Driven Decision Culture
BRIX's centralized validation data platform consolidates historical test results, performance benchmarks, and validation outcomes in a single, structured repository. By making past simulation and test data readily accessible, BRIX reduces the need for redundant physical experiments and actively encourages a culture where engineering decisions are grounded in data. Teams can leverage historical insights to minimize test iterations and accelerate design convergence.

7. Data Governance and Security
Engineering data lifecycle management is a core function of BRIX. The platform enforces role-based access control (RBAC), full traceability of data changes, and structured lifecycle governance ensuring that validation data is handled in compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements. Access policies, audit logs, and controlled data distribution through the report management module ensure that sensitive engineering data stays within the intended scope of access.
SimOps Compliance Level: High
8. Simulation Cost Tracking and Optimization
BRIX provides resource-usage monitoring and infrastructure utilization visibility across test beds, lab equipment, and compute assets. The Utilization dashboard enables lab managers and operations teams to identify underutilized or over-committed resources, optimize scheduling, and make informed infrastructure investment decisions. Asset lifecycle tracking including calibration cycles and breakdown history further supports cost control by reducing unplanned downtime and reactive maintenance expenditure.
SimOps Compliance Level: High
9. Cross-Functional Collaboration
BRIX is designed as an enterprise integration platform connecting engineering, laboratory, and IT environments. Role-based access and shared data models allow simulation engineers, test engineers, lab managers, and management stakeholders to collaborate within a single system of record. Integrated report management with approval and distribution workflows eliminates fragmented communication and ensures that validation insights reach decision-makers in a timely and structured manner.
SimOps Compliance Level: High
10. Version-Controlled Workflows
BRIX provides lifecycle traceability and configuration tracking for validation workflows at the individual application level. Each test plan, report, and workflow instance is tracked with full version history, enabling teams to reproduce past results, audit changes, and understand the evolution of validation processes over time. This capability is foundational to making engineering simulation operations reproducible and auditable, a key SimOps requirement.
SimOps Compliance Level: High
11. End-to-End Data Lifecycle Management
BRIX-Lite is built on ASAM-ODS standards and provides a structured engineering data repository with comprehensive lifecycle governance. From raw test data ingestion across multiple formats (.xls, .csv, .atfx, etc.) through analysis, reporting, and long-term archival, BRIX manages the complete data lifecycle within a single, governed platform. Integrated data spoolers and file management tools ensure seamless data flow between acquisition systems, compute environments, and engineering consumers.
SimOps Compliance Level: High
12. AI/ML and Digital-Twin Enablement
D-BRIX is purpose-built as a structured big data platform that enables advanced analytics, machine learning, and digital-twin workflows.
