Assistant Professor at the College of Computing, Mohammed VI Polytechnic University, where he leads the Chair in Multiphysics and High-Performance Computing and serves on the Advisory Board of Toubkal, Africa's largest academic supercomputer. His work covers both sides of large-scale simulation: parallel finite volume solvers on unstructured meshes, and the energy efficiency of the systems that run them. He develops Manapy, an MPI-based Python finite volume framework, and Mumps4py, a parallel MUMPS interface adopted by the MUMPS project and used in industry. He co-founded the MoroccoHPC community, working to turn simulation into a structured operational capability across African research and industry.

His experience spans the full simulation chain: large-scale versatile CFD workflows and optimization via various tools, AI surrogate models, and experimental validation. Sitting on both sides of the simulation fence, he also works hands-on with HPC environments (job scheduling, parallel storage, GPU workloads, etc.), and has helped shape operational architecture, resource-management practices, and simulation data-retention standard. That dual perspective made SimOps a natural fit. Certified as both SimOps Expert and SimOps Practitioner, and PMP-certified, Ali applies DevOps-style automation, repeatability, and operational discipline to engineering simulation.
