1

You’ll learn

  • Create simulation environments using Docker

  • Run OpenFOAM simulations inside containers

  • Automate simulations and ensure reproducibility

  • Deploy the same setup on premise and on AWS

  • Scale simulations without changing your workflow

2

Who it’s for

  • Simulation engineers (CFD / CAE / FEA with or without AI)

  • HPC and IT infrastructure teams

  • DevOps engineers supporting simulation workloads

  • Technical leads who need reproducible and scalable simulation environments

3

Prerequisites

  • No prior Docker or AWS experience required. However, completing SimOps Fundamentals and SimOps Practitioner training beforehand is recommended.

As an R&D engineer developing and optimizing simulation code with regard to the underlying HPC infrastructure for our customers, I found the SimOps Fundamentals training of great help to better understand the needs of our customers, simulation engineers and HPC operations experts alike, and to successfully apply SimOps best practices to my R&D work.

SimOps Expert Training teaches you how to build, automate, and operate a container-based simulation environment that runs consistently on any infrastructure, from laptop, workstations to AWS cloud. Through hands-on exercises, you will create a fully reproducible simulation workflow using Docker and deploy the same setup both on-premise and in the cloud without reinstallation or configuration changes.

In this training, you will build your own simulation environment using Docker and run engineering simulations. You will automate the entire process so simulations can be executed with a single command, ensuring consistency and eliminating manual setup.

You will learn how to scale simulations using cloud compute resources and manage results with persistent data handling. By the end of the training, you will have a fully reproducible, portable, and automated SimOps workflow ready for real engineering projects.

Duration:

Self paced. But with basic knowledge of SimOps (e.g. through the SimOps Fundamentals training), and of Linux and Docker, this should not take longer than 2 hours.

Certification:

Pass a 15-question exam to earn your SimOps Expert Certificate.

"Improving your simulation capabilities is the key to building better products (as well as a stronger company) and I believe that SimOps is the path to doing this - just as DevOps did for software development."

Peter Ungaro, former CEO at Cray Inc. and SVP & GM at HPE
